The 1906 Wedding & Event Venue Story

The 1906 Wedding & Event Venue’s story began 115 years ago. After many years as the First Christian Church of Whitesboro, Texas, the building was sold and fell into disrepair.  Renovation began in 2013 and included detailed restoration of historic features.

The vision for this building was to restore the important historic architectural details, while creating a modern-day space.  French Country details such as the wrought iron chandeliers and sconces were added, and construction was completed in over a year. 

For many years, the stained glass windows in the chapel were broken and boarded.  Reaching out to the original 1906 glass fabricator, who created new glass for damaged areas, the chapel windows now filter light beautifully into the room and are a jaw dropping feature of the space.

Something old made new

When it came time to repair the chapel’s tin ceiling, the original fabricator, W.F. Norman Company was still in business as well. They had the original molds for the ceiling tiles, and exact replicas were created to replace those damaged in the vaulted sanctuary space.

The pine hardwood floors have been repaired & restored to their original beauty and the reception area, adjacent to the sanctuary, features the original hardwood and tin tile ceiling. The lower level basement, known as The Union Lounge, has been reconfigured to house two large bridal rooms,  as well as additional restrooms, a gathering space, and catering staging area.
